Larry D. Yori, 76, died Friday, July 24, 2015, at his home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born July 9, 1939 to Vittorio and Lucia Yori in Des Moines.
Larry was in the first graduating class of Saydel High School in 1957 and then served proudly in the US Marine Corp. Larry worked at Firestone as a tire builder for 39 years and retired in 2000. He was a long time member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Larry always kept busy with his family, helping his children and grandchildren with household projects.
Larry is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters Denise Yori, Kim (Jason Eenhuis) Hermanson, Renita (Pete) DiDonato, and Jodi Simms; stepchildren, Larry Simmons and Randi Burk; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Joann Bianchi and Rita Cunconan; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice or the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Larry.

I worked with Larry at Firestone from 1963 to 1971. I have fond memories of my time working with him.. He was a hard worker and a great guy.
