Paul Willard, 67, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Paul was born November 29, 1947 in Ames, Iowa to Tom and Francis Willard. He attended Dowling for two years and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After graduation, Paul was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served as a combat medic. Upon his release from active duty in 1970, he continued to serve his country by joining the Army Reserves, retiring in 1996. Paul retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2003 after 33 years of service. Following his retirement, he went to work at DMACC and continued working there for another 10 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Paul is survived by his beautiful bride of 28 years, Jean; children, Amy (Rob) Renes and their son, Caleb, Thomas (Ann) Willard and their children, Remy, Roman and River, Tiffany Hentges and her children, Blake, Grayson and Elizabeth and Jon Hentges; sisters, Rita Keyser and Pat Roccasecca; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 4th at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue. Paul will be laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
