Phil Butler

Phil Butler, 70, passed away on August 1, 2015 at home. Phil was born April 18, 1945 in Indianola, Iowa to Earl and Velma Butler. He graduated from Indianola High School where he was active in all sports. He was a lifelong, devoted fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Green Bay Packers and the N.Y. Yankees.
A visitation will be held at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona, Iowa on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be held at Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny, Iowa.
Phil is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Lori Butler and grandson, Zachary Barton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Velma Butler, and sister, Karon Cobb.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
