Dorothy Jones

Dorothy Jones, 99, went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2015, at Taylor House Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Reformed Church, 720 NE 52nd Ave., with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.

She was born in Dallas County on November 23, 1915, to Ernest and Della Crannell. Dorothy married Donald Jones on December 25, 1933. She worked at the Ordnance Plant in Ankeny, and at Elko Photo Finishing in Des Moines. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with Donald; family trips and traveling; visiting with family and friends. Dorothy treasured the word of God and read it daily. She was the family prayer warrior.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Lila Brugioni of Des Moines and Sharon Stubbs of Altoona; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by infant son, Lloyd; her husband, Donald; son, LaVerne; and sons-in-law, Carl Brugioni and Ron Stubbs, Sr.
