Doris Warren

Doris Warren, 80, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Altoona Nursing and Rehab in Altoona, Iowa.
Doris was born September 25, 1934 in Runnells, Iowa to Harlan and Gladys (Blood) Gulling. She married Bill Warren on August 13, 1953 and they shared 51 years of marriage until Bill’s death in 2004. Doris worked for Skinner Law Firm for eighteen years. Doris was an active in the Rising Sun Church of Christ, where she was a faithful member. She enjoyed annual vacations with friends and family at Okoboji for forty years.
She is survived by her daughter, Teri (Ric) Janes; son, David (Terry) Warren; six grandchildren, Angie (Robert) Dalton, Randi (Ben) Collette, Zach (Courtney) Janes, David Warren II, Kate Janes, and Cody Warren and 7 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill, her parents, her brother, Keith Gulling and her sister, Wanda Tingle.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St. SW, Altoona on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held the night prior on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Animal Rescue league in memory of Doris’s love for animals.

Joyce and I want to express our sympathy to Teri, David and their families in the passing of Doris. She was a delightful lady who always asked about our kids. Her concern for others was an example to all. You are all in our prayers.

I did not know Doris but her Father Harlan worked with my Dad. Harlan and Gladys always sat with my parents at Riverview Park for the annual Meredith picnic. I am sorry for your loss.
