Fred Couch

Fred Couch, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015. Fred was born in Montieth, Iowa to Harper Couch and Lola (Stringer) Couch. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a retired Revenue Officer for the IRS. Before moving to Scottish Rite Park, Fred was a long time resident of West Des Moines. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Fred had many interests. Among them was fishing, hunting, snow skiing and gardening. He especially enjoyed being with his family.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bonnie Couch; his son, Ron Spridgen of Roswell, NM; his daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Wingert of Panora, IA; grandchildren, Rachel, K.C., Shane, Chase and Kate; and great-granddaughter, Alayna. Fred was preceded in death by his son, Roger Couch.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Scottish Rite Park for the wonderful care Fred received while under their care.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, September 3 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation taking place one hour prior at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1025 28th St. in West Des Moines, IA. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
