Dustin Wheeler, 33, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Dustin was born January 14, 1982 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a member of and was baptized at Aurora Avenue Bible Church. He loved collecting and repainting Hot Wheels cars. It was a lifelong hobby of Dustin’s. He enjoyed toying with radio-controlled airplanes, camping, and fishing, especially fly fishing. He looked forward to attending the Iowa State Fair each year. Dustin had a way with animals and could make friends with any animal, no matter how they acted towards other people. He liked shopping and was always buying little trinkets and stocking stuffers for the whole family.
Dustin is survived by his mother, Carrie Wheeler; father, Ernest Wheeler, Jr.; sister, Nanette Turner; grandmother, Carolyn Reeves; close cousins, Kimberly Reeves and Scott Reeves; and many other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jerry Reeves and Ernest Wheeler, Sr.; grandmother, Dorothy (Ray) Ellis; and his uncle, Scott Reeves.
A memorial visitation with a time of sharing will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Aurora Avenue Bible Church, 5 NW Aurora Avenue in Des Moines. Burial will be announced at a later time.

Dear Carrie,
We were so saddened to hear of Dustin's passing, but gladdened to know he is with his heavenly father now. Praying for you to be able to grieve with hope, and recall happy memories with Dustin. We have some fond ones of our own.

I am sorry to hear about Dustin's passing. Dustin was in my math class many years ago. I remember that he loved talking about dinosaurs. Condolences to the family.
