Theodore Arthur Robertson
October 11, 2015
Theodore Robertson, formerly of Des Moines and Ankeny, IA, passed away on October 11, 2015 in Clearwater, Florida at the age of 79. He was born on May 4, 1936 in Des Moines, the son of Arthur and Fern Robertson.
Ted graduated from Lincoln High School where he excelled in all 3 sports; basketball, baseball and football. While in school, he caddied at Wakonda Golf Course beginning his lifelong interest in golf. He served on the Des Moines Fire Department following school and later on as an EMT, both aspects he enjoyed. He retired after a 23 year career from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. While there, because of his charismatic personality, he was selected as loaned executive to the United Way for a year. Ted misunderstood the meaning of retirement and served for over 12 years as the President of two Condo Associations.
Ted became a Mason with Home Lodge in Des Moines. He continued through to the Scottish Rite and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine. After his retirement and permanent move to Florida, Ted became a member of Clearwater Masonic Lodge 127 and participated in many functions.
Ted is survived by his wife Lynne; his sons Steve and Jeff; step-daughters Joyce and Brenda; and granddaughter Stacey. Ted is preceded in death by his brother Reverend Jim Robertson.
His easy-going, good-natured ways attracted many friends and his loyal and dedicated character created long-lasting friendships. Ted lived a full and happy life.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Tampa Bay Computer Society at www.tampa-bay.org/donate/, a group he supported and volunteered at during the years.

I knew Ted only for a short time but took to him immediately! His wry sense of humor was delightful and he was so interesting to talk to. He listened to Fox news and I listened to NPR but we enjoyed each others differences.
I so enjoyed his telling stories of how he met Lynne and the history of their relationship.
My condolences to his family and Lynne.
He will be missed at Imperial Cove!

Dear Lynne
We are so sorry you lost Teddy. Both of you always made our visits to Des Moines the best ever. My kids loved all our boat rides. Teddy was always my favorite boy cousin since I can remember playing??. He is going to be missed by me a lot. I have the best memories I will think of often. Until I see you again you will always be my favorite Fireman and Cousin, Love you Always
