Louise T. Burch

Margaret “Louise” Thompson Burch, 78, passed away, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Taylor Hospice House. The funeral service will be 1 PM Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, with burial at Rising Sun Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.

Louise was born July 12, 1937 to Curtis & Margaret (Peacock) Thompson in Carbondale, Iowa. She graduated from Des Moines Tech High School in 1955, and married Bill Burch in 1960 in Des Moines. She worked over 40 years in the Des Moines Public School System as an administrative assistant before retiring in 1998. She enjoyed reading, needlework, watching her Cardinals, and spending time with family and friends.

Louise is survived by her daughters: Vicky Burch, and Cindy (Neal) Smith; her son, Ron Dickinson; her brother Larry D. Thompson; sisters-in-law, Bess, Fran and Muriel Thompson; her grandchildren: Derrik, Justin, Jacob, Jason, and Alissa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also survived by her special friends, Ruth Hook, Sylvia Mendenhall, Kim Dickinson, Lois Young; and her beloved dog, Dolly.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents; her step-mother Alice Thompson; brothers: Curtis L., John C., and LeRoy J. Thompson; and brother-in-law, Melvin Burch.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, or UnityPoint Hospice in loving memory of Louise.
