Teri Jean (Scovel) Yaw, 68, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at her home in Des Moines.
Teri was born May 24, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lawrence and Betty Scovel. She is survived by her son, Eddie Gene Knapp (Heather Houston); step-daughter, Kim (Eric) Templeton; six grandchildren, Sondr Knapp, Curtis Knapp (Kathryn Harding), Blake Templeton, Jordan Knapp, Brady Knapp, and Hunter Knapp; two sisters; one brother; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Yaw; son, Patrick Knapp; and brother, Tim Scovel.
Services will be held at Faith Independent Assembly of God, 6001 SW 14th Street, Des Moines on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Family will begin greeting friends at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service to start at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Faith Independent Assembly.

To Teri's family: God Bless You Sweet lady, we will miss you so, I remember meeting your son at church when you took me with you, it was so heartwarming to see and hear you get up there and sing. An Angel here on earth is now an Angel above! I too worked with Teri for many years at Budget Marketing, she was a wonderful Christian Woman and will be missed. God Bless her Family and Friends at this time!

To my sweet nephew Eddie, I love you as I always have. I will miss Teri for her work on earth is done, but I know that she is with God. Live in peace knowing you had a wonderful and Godly mother.

Nearly 30 years ago I began working with Teri at Budget Marketing. She was my supervisor. She was such a dear dear lady and a treasure to all who met her. My thoughts are with you.

Eddie, Bob and I are so sad about our friend, Ter-Bear. Please know that we are praying for you, and that your mom loved you so much, and your kids and grandson. She is now free from the awful pain of her back trouble, and other health problems. May God bring you the peace that only He can provide.
