Donald Joe Ansley, 84, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook, IA. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 15 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA followed by a graveside service at Highland Cemetery in Mystic, IA at 2:00 p.m.

Don was born June 17, 1931 in Colby, KS to Thomas and Lois (Ihrig) Ansley. He graduated from East High School in Des Moines and Open Bible College. He then joined the US Army Engineers and served from 1952 to 54. Upon his return, Don graduated from Adams State College/University in Alamosa, CO earning his Bachelor’s degree and later his CPCU designation from Drake University. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with his bride and high school sweetheart, Marcella. They enjoyed trips to Switzerland, the Middle East, Europe, and lived in Germany for a year. Don retired from Willis & Moore, Inc. after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marcella Ansley; brother, Paul (Debbie) Ansley; his sister, Marvel (Paul) Williamson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Leland.
