Gloria Burdick

Gloria (Villalobos) Burdick, 90, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston surrounded by her family.

She was born March 12, 1926 to Benjamin and Martina Villalobos in Valley Junction, West Des Moines.

She is survived by her husband, William Burdick; sons, Dennis and Joseph; siblings, Fred (Nellie) Villalobos, Leo (Kathy) Villalobos, and Benita (Richard) Quijano; grandchildren, Felicia, Celeste, Chelsea, and Dontai; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriela, Bianca, Alejandro, and Bella;

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary Louise Valadez and Francis Ortiz; and her brothers, Jesse, Raymond, Paul, and Tony Villalobos.

Gloria enjoyed playing bingo, doing puzzles, cooking, going to the movies and out to eat. She loved being with her family and friends.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue in Des Moines, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to St. Anthony Catholic Church in memory of Gloria.
