David Talton, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at University Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at the age of 69. He was born November 18, 1946 in Huntington, Missouri to William and Pauline Talton.

David loved being outdoors traveling, fishing, hunting, and grilling. He especially cherished time spent with his family and friends. David was a fan of all sports his favorite teams included, Cardinals, Lakers, 49ers, and the Raiders. He coached baseball for the University Little League, Little American League, and football for Dowling Catholic School. David was known for helping the neighborhood kids and they all looked up to him as a father figure. He will forever be remembered for having a heart of gold and always putting others before himself.

He is survived by his children, David Talton, Jr., Demarco Daniels, Julie Talton, Starla Berry, and Michelle Elam; grandson, Robert Farris; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Bessie McPike, Dorothy Onley, and Barbara Wagner; and brothers, William Talton, Calvin Talton, and Elmer Talton.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Talton; parents; children, Tina Farris and Eric Talton; sister, Marjorie Green; and brother, Frank Talton.

Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Burial will be held at St. Jude Cemetery in Monroe City, Missouri.
