I first came to know Bill when I was working for QuikTrip on the east side of Des Moines. Bill was always a frequent, smiling face regardless of the store I was working at. As time went by I got to know Peggy and work with his daughter, Norma. Bill was a kind, decent, salt-of-the-earth kind of guy and I know I am a better person for having known Bill. Rest in peace.

My husband & I used to deliver the newspaper with Bill & Peggy. They were both wonderful people. Bill was the one that would be telling jokes or making you laugh in the morning. After we quit delivering papers, I would bump into Bill & Peggy at the store or in his yard on e 29th. Let's just say Bill would tell you what's on his mind and he was always putting a smile on your face. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family.

Our memories of "Allen" (his name familiar to us from growing up years in Atlantic, Ia) are sweet and happy ones.
We like to think of him in Heaven with Jesus and those who have gone before us - getting things ready for Eternity. Maybe at work on a cabin site with a lake where the fish always bite or on a horse ranch where we can go on wild west adventures and sit by a campfire and tell stories, and/or he may be busy laying gold on streets where we'll drive cars and trucks from the 60s and beyond.
Whatever he's doing, our hopes are that we will find him there, with his usual warm welcome, to join him for amazing activities that will grow more wonderful every day Forever! Meanwhile, we'll treasure our gift
of his fun-loving heart.
In sympathy and prayers for Allen's dear ones, Peggy, family, and precious little "Scrappy."
