Donald Joyce

Donald J. Joyce, 65, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016.

He was born November 3, 1950 in Bronx, New York to James and Irene Joyce.
Donald served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed vacationing, spending time with his children and grandchildren and collecting pens from doctor’s offices. Donald also enjoyed making children smile.

Donald is survived by his children, Emily Joyce and Nick (Melissa) Joyce; step-daughters, Carrie (Paula Sweet) Ory, Pamela Ory and Rebecca (Nick) Walker; grandchildren, Makayla, Jezi, Lexi, Justyn, Carson, Amber, Matthew, Lizzie, Isabella, Baylee and Kaylynn; great-grandchildren, Amy, Aiden, Jose, Kyre and Leon; siblings, Tommy Joyce, Pat (Jim) Johnson, Christine Joyce, Kenneth (Cindy) Joyce, Karen Welch and Debbie Starbeck; dogs, Dutchess and Daisy; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ann Joyce and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Donald will be laid to rest at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
