Mildred Marie Evers

Mildred Marie Evers, 94, joined her husband in their Heavenly home on June 26, 2016. Mildred was born September 16, 1921 to Mary (Kalstrom) and Elmer Erickson in Glen Flora, WI. She attended St. Paul Bible School and Mounds MidWay School of Nursing. In 1947, she married Herbert Carlyle Evers. The couple later moved to California and settled in Pacific Grove where Mildred worked as an RN in the Burn Unit in Salinas, CA, volunteered at a care center, and was the nursing facilitator at Skyline Hospital for the Junior Mints. She volunteered at the VA hospital, tutored elementary students and volunteered her nursing skills.

Herbert “Carlyle” and Mildred enjoyed traveling and visited 48 states. After his passing in 1976, Mildred visited Alaska and Hawaii, thereby visiting all 50 states. Mildred spent her years moving between Minnesota, California and Iowa to be closer to her daughters.

She is survived by her children, Lynn (Kurt Hellmich) Evers, Irene Elisabeth Evers, Karin (Marvin) Lancaster; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Thure (Marian) Erickson.
