Fern L. Biles
Des Moines
Fern L. Biles, age 103, passed away June 28, 2016 at Fleur Heights Care Center. She was born January 15, 1913 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joseph and Mildred (Griffiths) Biles. She retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1972. Fern was a member of the Jordan United Methodist Church and Telephone Pioneers of America. Memorials may be sent to her church.
Fern is survived by two cousins, Jack (Maralee) Sarasio and Marilyn Sarasio (with whom she lived for two years prior to going to the care center). She is also survived by her nieces, Etta (Don) Huffy and Peggy Lowe.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Ridgedale Cemetery in Johnston.

Fern was one of the "pillars" of Jordan United Methodist Church, and a good Christian. If you wanted to know something of the history of the church, she was the person to go see. Finally she gets to rest in peace. Special blessings to Marilyn who took care of her in her home, and at Fleur Heights.
