Eva Colleen McClaflin

Eva Colleen McClaflin of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Taylor House from a long bout with breast cancer. She was born on September 13, 1940 in Centerville, Iowa to Glen and Eva Thomas.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 40 years, James McClaflin; her children: Kim Sanford, Bob (Darcey) Sanford, Ron (Jennie) Sanford, Teri Mash, Mike (Nola) McClaflin, Sr., Mark (Rhonda) McClaflin, and Karla (Nick) Bower all of the Des Moines metro area. She is also survived by: her brother, Tommy (Janice) Thomas; sister, Evelyn Karns; sisters-in-law, Doris Burford, Ramona Porter, Francis (Tom) King, and Ida (Bill) Carpenter; and brothers-in-law: Dean (Marie) McClaflin, Paul (Janice) McClaflin, and Rex (Julie) McClaflin. Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren: Jennifer Roberts, Michael McClaflin, Jr., Sara McClaflin, Kyle Sanford, Bryce Sanford, Cole Sanford, Christa Allen, Jason McClaflin, Gabe Bower, Drew Bower, Haylee Bell, Jackie Sanford, Cade Mash, Zach Mash, Luke Mash, and her 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Sanford; and her parents, Glen and Eva Thomas.
Colleen will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends. Special thanks to our winter Texas family and friends for all their cards, prayers and support. The family also wants to extend their thanks to Dr. Thomas Buroker and his staff at the John Stoddard Cancer Center.
Family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. These will both occur at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50310. Interment directly after service at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells, Iowa.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the John Stoddard Compassion Fund in Des Moines, Iowa; or the Rio Grande Bible Institute in Edinburg, Texas c/o Pastor Bob Kracht.
