George Mullins, 76, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, July 22 from 11 to 1 pm.
George was born October 20, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa to Raymond and Grace (Grotts) Mullins. He was a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking, Madison, Wisconsin and was involved with banking and business for over forty years.
George was very active and enjoyed participating in many different activities. His family was what he valued most in life. He also enjoyed playing tennis, fishing and hitting the golf course.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen Mullins; his sons, Brian (Arisa Miller Mullins) Mullins and Brent (Lori) Mullins; his brother, Duane (Linda) Mullins; his grandchildren, Cole, Cory, Skiler, Melodie, Carly and Grace; brothers-in-laws, Ronald (Sandra) and Richard; nieces and nephews; and many friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mullins family, So sorry for your loss, but feel very blessed, as I do, for having George as part of my life. He was a great tennis buddy and friend. Thankful for so many fond memories and good times.

Sorry to read George has passed. We played a lot of tennis with and against each other over the years at the BHTC. In fact we made the trip to Tucson together in 2009. He was always pleasant to be with - Regards

I was so sadden to see in the Courier of George's passing. We spent many fun times on the tennis courts competing in tournaments and friendly matches while in Cedar Falls. Also remember fun times playing doubles with our wives. George will be missed!
