Robert "Bob" Helm, Jr.

Robert “Bob” Lee Helm, Jr. 60, was born July 5, 1956 and passed away peacefully at his home on July 25, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Bob was born and raised in Des Moines. He worked for Forman Ford and Two Rivers. Bob enjoyed bowling, camping, playing cards, watching football, going to garage sales, dancing and listening to country music.

Bob is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Jamie (Ray) Lenox, Jennifer Helm, and Robert III; step-daughter, Jessica Allsup; grandchildren, Nathan, Jasmine and Kieanna; siblings, Mary (Denny) Mefferd, Peg (Jim) Woods and Gary (Tereasa) Helm. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Helm Sr.; mother, Neva (Smith) Helm; 3 brothers, Mike, Larry and Jerry; and his grandparents.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
