Kenneth L. Jackson, age 59, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Kenneth was born to John Clark and Margaret Jackson on August 19, 1956 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Kenneth was a dedicated employee for Drake University for 15 years. He then retired after 15 years of service from the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, where he worked as a custodian. He enjoyed listening to the Blues, and was an accomplished charcoal portrait artist. Kenneth was involved in Very Special Arts – Iowa Department of Education a non-profit volunteer organization. He will be remembered as a selfless person with a passion for helping people, and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 32 years, Cynthia Bagby-Jackson, daughters, Shannon (James) McDermott and Tiffany (Ike Parks) Jackson; grandsons, Malik and Kahlil; sisters, Gayle (Joe) Stinson, Jacqueline Channey, Eyvonne Crosby, Sheila (Victor) McCleskey, Queron Thompson, and LaVern Clark; brothers, John Clark, Jr. and Larry Clark; aunt, Delores Lowe; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marion Lynn Young.

Visitation will be held from at 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 24th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 612 E. 18th Street, Des Moines.
