Holly C. Peck

Holly Cora Peck, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 26, 2016.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, also at the funeral home. A reception will be held following the funeral before family processes to Lincoln Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa for the committal.

Holly was born December 31, 1924 in Mason City, Iowa to Peter and Rose (Hawthorne) Peterson. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines. She met her husband, Raymond, while he was on military leave and they married on August 31, 1946. Holly retired from the phone company after 20 years of service. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her and she cherished time spent with them. She was always there for her family, supporting them and helping in any way she could. She was a very easy-going person and she loved her cats and was a fan of George Strait. Holly enjoyed camping with her husband and her family will remember fondly that she always had fresh cookies in her house.

She is survived by her children, Raymond L. Peck II (June), Linda Sparks (Larry), Lance Peck, and Steve Peck (Linda), 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Holly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Donald and Charles.

It is suggested that memorial contributions be directed to support breast cancer research.
