Arlena May Kokke, of Pleasant Hill, passed away at her home surrounded by her family’s love on Friday, August 26, 2016. Arlena was born on November 10, 1922 in Colo, Iowa to Pearl (Cheville) and George C. Troutner.

Arlena married Fredrick Norbert Kokke on May 13, 1944 and together they were blessed with ten children. She was a long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery in Cumming, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with the rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Marilyn May (Michael) Lutz, of Columbus, OH, Johanna Marie (Ronald) O’Brien, of Fond du Lac, WI, Carol Sue (Michael) Roland of Pleasant Hill, IA, Patrick Charles (Jacqueline) Kokke, of Des Moines, IA, Louise Antoinette (Denny) Grimm, of Des Moines, IA, Fredrick Norbert (Sandra) Kokke, of Des Moines, IA, George Thomas (Beverly) Kokke, of Newton, IA, Jeanne Monica (David) Kauzlarich, of Des Moines, IA and Christopher (Julianne) Kokke, of Norwalk, IA; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other loving family and special friends. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fredrick; daughter, Arlena; grandson, Anthony; and great-granddaughter, Gracyn.
