Marilyn Elizabeth Halliburton Lloyd was the first of eight children born to Dorothy and Thomas Halliburton on May 25, 1950. Marilyn was reunited with her beloved husband Joseph Lloyd on September 21, 2016.

Marilyn attended St. Peters grade school and graduated from St. Josephs Academy in 1968. She met Joseph Lloyd in 1970 and they fell in love and married a year later on October 31, 1971. They started a family having three beautiful children, Tracey, Lisa and Nicholas. Joe bought a hair salon which was a big part of their lives. She always had the trendiest cuts and colors and had a stylist at all times. Marilyn held her head so high and always made sure she was dressed to the nines and her makeup flawless. Joe always made sure she looked beautiful. He even talked Marilyn into becoming a red head once! For the record that did not last long. They truly were made for each other. He loved her so much.

Marilyn was an employee of Iowa Des Moines, Norwest Banks, Wells Fargo for many years working at multiple branches; East, Douglas, and Downtown to name a few. She started off as a teller and held numerous positions. She retired to take care of Joe when he became ill, but went back to work after the salon was sold. She found her next career at the Weitz Corporation. She was employed there for eight years as an Administrative Assistant.

Marilyn was a courageous, hardworking, strong willed, determined woman who overcame many obstacles in her life time. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, traveling, chocolate, chocolate chip Haagen Dazs ice cream, deviled eggs, her mother’s salmon patties and LOVED mashed potatoes. You could never get away from stealing even a bite out of her personal stash of ice cream for she always knew! Of course all the children would deny who did it!

She was blessed with four handsome grandsons - Joseph, Camden, Joshua and Connor. She loved them so much and was so proud of the young men they were becoming. She lived to see her oldest grandson Joe graduate high school this past May. In addition, Marilyn is survived by her children, Tracey, Lisa and Nicholas (Kelly) Lloyd; mother, Dorothy Halliburton; siblings, Mary Kay (Dennis) Seward, Thomas (Lucy) Halliburton, Teresa (Steven) Jones, Susan Halliburton, Judy Halliburton, and Brenda (Jay) Strauss. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Halliburton; sister, Vicki Halliburton and niece, Saralynn Seward.

Although there is emptiness in our hearts there is comfort of knowing she is with her love Joe. Goodnight for now, mom, daughter, sister, grandma, friend we will see you again.
