Bob Wilts

Robert (Bob) Otto Wilts passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016.

Bob was born on October 6, 1937 to Otto and Lela (Hollingsworth) Wilts. He grew up in the Park Fair area of Des Moines and also enjoyed spending time with his grandparents at their farm in Milo. Bob proudly served as an Air Landing Control Operator in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960, both in South Korea and later stateside in Niagara Falls. After leaving the Air Force he met and married Penny Battoe and they had a daughter, Dawn.

Bob moved to Davenport where he spent most of his adult life, working for and eventually owning a business machine/cash register distribution and service company. He remarried and was widowed in 1999. A few years later he retired and spent time enjoying golf and bowling with friends.

Earlier this year Bob moved back to Des Moines so he could spend time with his family. He is dearly loved and will be forever missed by his daughter Dawn Wilts and grandson Kennedy, his brother and sister-in-law Dick and Jody Wilts, niece Cindy (Randy) Andreini and her family, and nephews Frank Wilts and John Wilts and their families.
