Dear Basile family,
I am extremely sorry for your loss of Kelli and Vince. Kelli B was a constant within my life. We were in sports together and band. She truly was the happiest, warm-hearted person ever. I remember always being able to talk to her and it was always a joy to interact with her. I regret losing contact since high school. I do believe that if I reconnected with Kelli throughout the years, that we would have easily updated each other about our lives as if no time had passed by. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through. Best of luck to the Basile Family through this time.

Its with great sadness that I write this note to your family- Kelli was such a bright light in AXO, as she was a freshman just joining in my last semester as president. In the many small moments that I spent with your daughter, she was a gracious and wonderful woman, and although I lost touch with her over the last few years, I can only imagine how she grew within AXO and ISU. I am so sorry for your loss, as immense to lose a daughter and sister, but to also lose a father and spouse. Since losing my father in college, I wanted to share a quote that I discovered and hold dear to hopefully carry you through the hard times - "When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that even after I'm gone, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart. For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost. Always move forward, but never forget" - my prayers go out to you and family through this trying time. <3

Your Kelli was my daughter's Big at AXO at Iowa State. Our hearts are sharing in your grief and we will continue to pray for all of you in the days head. In sharing tears and talking with Emily about Kelli, I asked her what she liked the most about your daughter and Emily instantly said "her positive energy". I feel so incredibly lucky to have had your amazing daughter as a role model for my daughter...Thank You for raising such an amazing daughter. Emily and our family will carry Kelli in our hearts forever!

I worked with Kelli for the first time this year and she was an amazing person. She is one of the most patient, sweet, selfless people I have ever met. She had a very genuine kindness and beauty inside and out. I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to know her. I will miss her so much.
