Donald Mathews

Donald James Mathews, 74 passed away peacefully at his home Friday September 23, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Don was born in Albia, IA on February 2, 1942 to Joseph and Katherine (Ruby) Mathews. He met the love of his life Helen Raines in Des Moines and they were married March 19, 1962. Don loved trucking, the open road and his family.

Don will be greatly missed by all. He was a very special man and was blessed with many friends who were special to him.

Don is survived by his loving wife Helen, his brother Gene (Inga) Mathews, sons Donald (Sandy), Wayne (Tami), William (Tina). Grandchildren Karrie (Ceeton) Pfantz, Crystal (Michael) Lafferty, Michael (Chelsea) Mathews, Jessica (Travis) Alitz, Jeffrey Mathews, Darrick Mathews, Dairrian Mathews, and Austin Mathews. Great Grandchildren Salestina, Adrian, Kayla, Aaron, Kaden, Kaedence, Brooklyn, Jordan, Kamryn, Madison, Reece, Karter and Braxton.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Katherine, brother Bob "Twig" and sisters Ruby and Betty.
