When I was in Little League, I really struggled at the plate. I had zero confidence and would strike out more than not. When Don became my coach he took a special interest in me...even to the point of inviting me over to his home and throwing me balls in his backyard for extra practice. That meant a lot to me. He didn't have to do that but he wanted to. He was truly a blessing to me and I know he has been a blessing to so many others.

I had the pleasure of working with Don at RYKO Mfg.. Always enjoyed his professionalism and easy going manner. Enjoyed our periodic lunch gatherings with Don and various other RYKO people after our retirements. Don will be missed by many people.

I only got to meet Don once, but he impressed me as a kind and generous man I'd like to know better. I especially wanted my young daughter to meet him. He seemed to embody the ideal grandfather.
I'm so grateful for the way he welcomed my sister and her children to his family, as if they'd always been part of it. I'm grateful, too, for my sister's husband, the fine son he raised who is as generous and loving as he was and will carry on his legacy.

We are visiting in Arizona, saw your dad had passed on Facebook. Words cannot begin to express how sad we are. We always thought so much of your dad and enjoyed all the years of baseball and softball that we had together. Hopefully, Cindi and Brian you will be comforted by all the wonderful memories. Just having lost your mother I am sure this is a horrible shock. We will be keeping you and your family is in our thoughts and prayers
