Genevieve Brown

Genevieve Erma Brown, 85, was born July 9, 1931 in Harlan, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Cecile (McConnell) Nollen. She passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Courtyard Estates in Pleasant Hill.

Genevieve retired from Kmart after 20 years of faithful service. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. Genevieve enjoyed gardening, canning food, antiques and always loved finding a bargain anytime.

Genevieve is survived by her children, Kelly Brown, Diana Avila and Karen Bruce. She dearly loved her six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Brown; her brother, Bernard Nollen and her sisters, Beatrice Koppold and Jeannette Nollen.

Graveside inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 at Altoona Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association in loving memory of Genevieve.
