Dick Morford

Dick Lee Morford, 83, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Dick was born March 7, 1933 in Russell, Iowa to Carl and Jessie Morford. He proudly served in the United States Army where he received a National Defense Service Medal. Dick was a mechanic for most of his life. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion.

Dick is survived by his children, Julie (Jeff) Dunn, Jill (Mike) Gillespie and Lonny Morford; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Lou.

Dick will be laid to rest at 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
