Bill E. Williams

Bill Eugene Williams, Jr., 69, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at University Park Nursing and Rehab in Des Moines.

Bill was born October 11, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Billy William, Sr. and Doris (Sloan) Williams.

He worked as a mechanic for Mitchell’s Transmission for over 30 years. His best friend was Danny Mitchell who he considered just like family. Bill was very family oriented and would always put his family first. He enjoyed watching television and reading the newspaper.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Ronnie (Frances) Williams, Penny (Daryle) Foxhoven, and Gerald (Jessica Ingersoll) Williams; step-son, Scott Smith; grandchildren, Ronnie Jr. and Adam; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, James Thomas (Cheryl) Williams, Cindy (Kevin) Clark, Linda (Mark) Collins, Pam Maxell, and Patricia (Robert) Payne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Doris Williams; son, Billy Williams III; grandson, Robert Williams; sister, Mary Sue Bails; brother, Michael Alan Williams.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
