Jeff Dean Hegwood

Jeff Dean Hegwood, 55, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center after a sudden bout with cancer.

Jeff was born August 19, 1961 in Des Moines to Bob and Betty Hegwood. He was a lifelong Des Moines resident. An avid fisherman and pheasant hunter, Jeff was also a hard worker. Jeff worked at Better Brake for 25 years, eventually co-owning it, followed by ten years at City Brake. He was currently working for Midwest Wheel, where he had been employed before his passing.

A devoted family man, Jeff is survived by his wife, Traci; children, Chad (Megan) Hegwood and Heather (Cory) Waters. Jeff loved and doted on his grandchildren, Peyton, Gauge, Gavin and Roslyn. He is also survived by his siblings, Cathy, Debbie and Mike; and an uncounted host of extended family and friends.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
