Edna Faye Downard

Edna Faye Downard, age 93, was born August 11, 1923, in Marion County, Iowa, the daughter of Ephie and Christeena (Parker) Davis. She passed away Friday, January 13, 2017, at Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa following the funeral.

Edna enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She was an avid animal lover. She also liked to read and listen to country music.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Mary Ann) Laird; grandchildren, Paul (Gloria) Regnier, Desiree Regnier Martinez, Aaron Laird, and Steve Madison; great-grandchildren, Dustin Kohler, Natasha Watford, and Thomas Regnier; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Wilma (Raymond) Fisher and Mary Nolte; good friend, Sally Laird and her family; and other extended family and friends.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Ephie and Christeena Davis; children, Arnold Eugene Laird and Sandra Faye Regnier; and her siblings, Ray Davis, Dorothy Furgison, and Alberta Nelson.
