Larry McNeeley

Larry McNeeley, 71, passed away on March 17, 2017, at Mercy Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Larry was a truck driver for Loffredo’s for many years. He was very involved with Special Olympics basketball and track & field. He will be remembered for being selfless, always putting his family first, and there to lend a helping hand for anyone in need. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving children, Paula (Casey) Reber, Rhonda (John) Bennett, Christina (Todd) Thorson, Larry McNeeley, Jr., and Brandon McNeeley; grandchildren, Stephani, Amber, Jeremy, Wessley, Jonathon, Reba, and Savannah; 7 great-grandkids; and many other loving family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda McNeeley; his parents; and mother-in-law, Emma Jean Daniels.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Military honors will conclude the visitation.

The history we had with each other will never be forgotten and neither will you. I would have liked to have seen you this June but I think you were just plain tired and ready to make the final journey home my friend. RIP Larry Dean.
