Denise Louise Agard
March 18, 2017
Denise Louise Agard, 66, passed away March 18, 2017. Services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. and the Celebration of Life at 6 p.m.
Denise was born June 17, 1950 in Sioux City, IA to Lois (Van Pelt) and Wilbert Agard. She grew up in Newton and the family later moved to Des Moines where Denise graduated from East High School. She worked in various careers over the years but most recently as an Associate Librarian for the Saydel School District where the students frequently called her Grandma. She loved the position and felt it was her most rewarding career. She loved connecting with the kids and hearing their stories.
Denise had a creative, beautiful soul. She had a wicked sense of humor and truly enjoyed life. She loved to have fun and had mastered her own happiness and independence. She loved gardening, antiquing or junking as she called it, sewing and reading. She adored her four legged children, Baby and Rocky. Her memory will be treasured by many.
Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Saydel High School Library.

It is very unfortunate that Grandma has passed away....she was always a really nice lady. It was enjoyable to see her after school on days when we had club but had to wait in her room until we could start club. I always enjoyed talking with her and hearing the stories that she had to tell us, or even the good books she would recommend for each of the kids that went into her library because of what she knew of them. I'm going to miss her, and will hope that she's able to see us all still remembering her.

I went to high school with Denise (Ish). Such great memories of her, her decorating talents, junk finds that she turned into treasures....but mostly the fun watching her dance to "Mustang Sally"! R.I.P. lovely lady. Gary & Florene Schroeder

I remember talking with Denise at Saydel as I was giving her a technology lesson or we would just be trying to get her computer to work. She was wonderful to talk to. I also loved seeing the pictures of Baby she had posted in her office. As we lived in the same general area, Denise and I would periodically run into each other; she always had Baby with her. Baby definitely lived up to her name. I'm very sad to read of Denise's passing. The world has lost a wonderful person.
