Tom Barton, 61, passed away on March 18, 2017 at Taylor House Hospice from esophageal cancer. He was born March 25, 1955 in Des Moines to Robert and Pat (Cavender) Barton.
Tom was a mechanic and worked at Firestone in Pleasant Hill for the past 10 years. He was a lifelong and devoted Packers fan. Tom enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley and especially being with his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Lacey Barton and Keelee (fiancé Jake Ensor) Barton; son, Jared (Lisa) McCormick; grandchildren, Aaron, Jasmine, Shane, Canyon and Nicole; great-granddaughter, Mariona; siblings, Chuck (Sandra) Barton, Christy (Chris) Schuling, Karen Middleton and Kim Sigmund; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
A celebration of life will take place from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Lion's Shelter, 507 13th Ave SW., Altoona.

I remember him as Tommy Barton from high school, swinging his head to get his long hair out of his face. He was tall and lanky, sweet and kind of shy. I'm sorry he's gone so early, sorry for everyone he was near and dear to. Peace.

Everyone who knew Tom knows that he was the kindest guy, He would do anything for anyone. He was a hardworking man, and never missed work. Everyday that i walked into work he would be there and he would always greet me with a smile or a swift kick in the butt, most of the time i deserved it. Tom will be greatly missed by many, I loved the guy like a father and i know many other people whom did as well. Tom, im glad you arent in pain any longer, i also know that you will be looking down on us. I love you man.
