Frank A. White

Frank Armon White was born February 4, 1918, in Hiteman, Iowa, the son of Frank Seryl White and Myrtle (Zimmerman) White. On October 31, 1940, knowing in his heart he had found true love, he asked Mary Louise out on a date and they were married the same evening. They enjoyed almost 75 joy-filled and blessed years together before her passing in 2015. Frank worked at John Deere for over 30 years as a tool and die maker before retiring in 1980. He served as President of John Deere Credit Union for many years and held a lead position in the Union. Frank was a faithful member of Community of Christ Church. He had a profound love of the fine arts, especially music and literature. Other interests including golfing, farming and gardening.

Frank passed away peacefully after a long and full life on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the age of 99.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Frank will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Russell Cemetery in Russell, Iowa.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Nancy (Ted) Gilbreth; son, Gary (Phuong Ly) White; grandchildren, Shelly (John) Stephenson, Jeff Carlson, Jonna (Andy) White Eiffert, Jaryd (Elise) White, Jenner White, and their mother Jody White; great-grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Frala, Brandon Carlson, Tanner Stephenson, Carter Stephenson, Quinlan Eiffert, and Zayden Eiffert; great-great-granddaughter, Maddison Gil; brother, Cyril Edward “Ed” White; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Stair Fund at Community of Christ Church, 3003 62nd Street, Des Moines, IA 50322.
