Ernestine Tucker

Ernestine “Teen” Tucker, 81, passed away surrounded by her family on August 12, 2017. She was raised in Des Moines and was a proud graduate of East High school.

Her kids were her life. Teen was a dedicated homemaker and there was no stranger, everyone became her own.

Teen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lloyd Tucker; sister, Mina Leah “Mike” Wigg; children, Leah (Brian) Allen, Jimmy (Shirley) Tucker, Boyd (Diane) Tucker, Robin (Bob) Walker, and Susie (Ric) Rhoades; grandchildren, Brandi, Chas, Barret, Audrey, Ashley, Chelsea, Brianna, Shantel, Jodi, Alyssa, Jessica, Cody, Jacob, Noah, and Hannah; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; as well as many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Leah Willis; and her brother-in-law, Paul Wigg.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home, 303 Center Avenue S. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 18th at Mitchellville United Methodist Church, 200 2nd Street NW, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
