Mary Bowman

Mary A. Bowman, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on August 20, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Ann was born November 12, 1930 in Des Moines to George and Elsie Williams. She retired from Des Moines Public School in 2007 where she had worked in the dietary dept. for several years. Mary was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Mary is survived by her, son, Ronnie (Sue) Taylor; daughters, Joyce Frakes and Cindy (Allen) Messer; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Bowman; sons Jackie and Jimmy Taylor; son-in-law, Lonnie Frakes; sister, Evelyn Randall; and her great-granddaughter, Katerra Harper.

The family will greet friends Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral services at 12 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mary will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
