Garry Eugene Stoddard was born November 1, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Lawrence Clark Stoddard and Thelma Iona (Cross) Stoddard. He passed away peacefully at the age of 64 at Karen Acres in Urbandale, Iowa, on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
Garry is survived by his nephews, nieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Evelyn, Thelma, Wilma, Gladys and Larry.
Garry was employed as the Janitorial Supervisor for Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. His favorite pastimes included fixing up and detailing cars, working on model cars and trucks, and going to rock concerts, especially KISS. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and making salsa from his harvests.
Garry will be laid to rest in Graceland Memorial Cemetery in Cameron, Missouri at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in loving memory of Garry.

To all of Garry's loved ones,
I did not know Garry well, but in the short time he lived with my sister and her son, I found him to be a gentle man.
My sincerest sympathy and prayers on the passing of Garry. It has been a long struggle for him and those who love him. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear the news, but glad that Garry is now at peace after his recent struggles. I will certainly miss him on my future visits to Iowa. He was a great guy whose company I always enjoyed. I will miss him for sure. RIP my friend.
