Carroll S. Bracewell

Carroll Shawn Bracewell, 57, passed away peacefully after a battle with a pulmonary illness on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Carroll was born January 31, 1960, in Leon, Iowa, to Dennison and Grace (McMorris) Bracewell. He worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 31 years and was a member of the American Postal Workers Union. Carroll’s greatest enjoyment was the Iowa State Fair. He went every day, all day, every year. Carroll is survived by his brother, Michael Bracewell and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. A reception will follow at APWU, 1200 E Euclid Ave, Des Moines, IA 50316. Burial will take place at Leon Cemetery, Leon, IA at 3:00 p.m. Thursday.
