Judith Ann Mattis

Judith Ann Mattis, 74, passed away November 12, 2017 from complications of Alzheimer’s. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines and a graveside service on Friday, November 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Judy was born January 26, 1943 in Des Moines, IA to John “Jack” and Maxine Cunningham. She grew up on the outskirts of town on the south side surrounded by the joys of the country - horses, land and the freedom to roam. She graduated from Tech High School and later attended DMACC to study accounting. Judy worked for Windsor Windows for over 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bridge, painting, traveling, the music of Elvis and George Strait, her numerous dogs, and most of all – caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Kim Mattis and her son Jack; son, Marc (Janet) Mattis; and son, Scott (Meredeth) Mattis and their children, Erica, Caleb, Elik, and Eliana; her sisters, Marilyn Duff and Jackie Hutchins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the Good Samaritan Society in Indianola for their wonderful care of Judy.
