Jill Shireman Jill A. Shireman, 50, passed away, Sunday, April 13th after a 12 year journey starting with Stage IV Breast Cancer. Jill was married to Greg for 25 years and was a mother devoted to her children. She also loved the Iowa State Fair and was a multiple Blue Ribbon award winner for her fabulous baking. Jill also enjoyed spending time at the family home in Clear Lake as well as time in Colorado. Jill is survived by her husband, Greg; sons, Spencer and Carter; daughter, Blaire; mother, Donna Jacobs of West Des Moines; brother, Jeff Jacobs of Mesa, AZ; parents-in-law, Bob and Shirley Shireman; brother-in-law and sister-in-laws, Don and Stephany Henderson of West Des Moines, Kimberly Jacobs of Urbandale; a niece and four nephews. Jill was preceded in death by her father, Eldon and her brother, Greg. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16th from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, Thursday, April 17th at 10:00 a.m. with a graveside service and luncheon following. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Mercy Cancer Center or the Iowa State Fair. Jill inspired and touched so many lives along her long journey. She gave them hope and courage; for this, many lives will never be the same.
