Richard Wayne Grove

Richard Wayne Grove, 77, went home to his heavenly Father on November 28, 2017. Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, funeral service on Saturday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. at First Federated Church, 4801 Franklin Ave. in Des Moines, and burial at Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny at 2:00 p.m.

Richard was born March 25, 1940 in Fremont, MI to Marion Lincoln (McIntryre) and Monte Gilmore Grove. He graduated from Fremont High School and then attended Hartford Airline Personnel School. Richard worked for United Airlines for 42 years in ground crew. He was a member of First Federated Church and enjoyed serving in any way he could. After he retired, Richard also enjoyed woodworking and crafted many projects.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois Grove; children, B. Scott (Laury) Grove, Sharon (Steve) Olson, and Phil (Sue) Grove; his brother, Roy Grove; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and great-grandchild, Kaleb Michael.
