Darlene “Dar” Miller was born March 4, 1928 in Mason City, Iowa, to her parents Art and Ruth Ramus. She grew up in LuVerne, Iowa, close to her maternal grandparents William and Mary Schultz. William always called her his little hen pheasant. Their family later moved to Des Moines where she graduated from Des Moines Technical High School.

She married Kyle Luchsinger on September 2, 1945 in LuVerne and they had 3 children, Kerry, Kylene and Deborah. After they divorced she and her children returned to Des Moines to live with her parents.

She met and fell in love with Allen “Bud” Miller and they were married on January 27, 1962. Together, they owned and operated Bud’s Used Furniture & Antiques for many years. They shared a wonderful life traveling, antiquing, and enjoying their grandchildren. They were inseparable until his death in 1996.

She spent the remaining years of her life being a supportive mother, loving grandma, doting Nani, kindly aunt, faithful member of New Life Church, and ever present friend.

She joined Bud, the love of her life on December 6, 2017. She is survived by her daughters, Kylene Luchsinger and Deborah Luchsinger (Jack); grandsons, Jon Luchsinger, Chad Cave (Trish), Kerry Bowlin (Courtney), and Nicholas Bowlin (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Jaxon, Presley, Channing, and Declynn; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
