Dorothy Jean Mathis

Dorothy Mathis, 86, passed away December 10, 2017, at the Iowa Jewish Senior Life Center in Des Moines. She was born November 12, 1931, to Byram and Cleta Woodard.

Dorothy was a member of Grace Church and loved her family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles; daughters, Charmaine (John) Carney and Christina (Robert) Peterson; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; as well as other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Florence Bell.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., with a service to begin at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Grace Church, 4200 E. 25th Street in Des Moines. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery following services.
