Brian Heck

Brian was born February 8, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa to Gladys (Horstman) and Eugene Heck. Brian served his country in an extended career with the U.S. Navy, retiring as Master Chief. In recent years he has been employed by Adel-Winterset TV and Appliance.

Brian passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 56.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda (Josh) Ostergaard; granddaughters, Isla Marie and Eleanor Mae; his sister, Nancy J. (Harry) Perkins; nieces, Katie Komenda and Carrie Livingston; nephew, John M. Perkins; and a host of other loving relatives and many special friends. Brian was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Steven M. Heck.

Family will greet friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines followed by the funeral service at 6:30 p.m. Burial with military honors will be at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa on Friday, January 19 at 9:30 a.m.
