Helen Johnson, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Helen was born the daughter of Oscar and Erna Johnson on November 1, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Helen had the most generous loving heart, always putting her loved ones before herself without a moment’s hesitation. She was known for having a revolving door to her home open to all. Helen always had a hot meal ready on the table, she loved to cook fish and made the best potato salad in the mid-west. Nothing was more important to Helen than time spent with her family and loved ones. Her bright smile and kind heart will be sorely missed.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving children, Dorsey Morris, Sr., Brian (Nicolle) Morris, Mark Allen Morris, Sr., Darrell Morris, Patricia Morris, and Jason Morris, Sr.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Alfreda Buckner, Lorraine Johnson, Vera Johnson, and Oscar “Sonny” Johnson, Jr.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; children, Glynis Morris, Keith Morris, Jr., Anthony Morris, Dennis Vaughn, and Demetria Morris; and siblings, Eunice Ridley, Katherine Burrage, Alta Mae Johnson, Ernest “Buddy” Johnson, and Keith "Doobie" Wesley Morris, Jr.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 23rd, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 24th at Glendale Cemetery.
