Kenneth "Kenny" Huitt

Kenneth “Kenny” E. Huitt, 84, of Hickory, NC, passed away January 31, 2018 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born December 19, 1933 in Adel, IA, he was the son of the late Merrill and Elva Sable Huitt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Mountain.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norine Carpenter Huitt of the home; son, Kevin Huitt and wife Susan of Hickory, NC; daughter, Kyla Huitt of Topeka, KS; grandson, Kenneth L. Huitt, JD of Ellsworth, ME; granddaughter, Perri Huitt, DO of Pueblo, CO; brothers: Larry Huitt and wife Sandy of AZ, Gary Huitt and wife Surella of IA; sister, Barbara Kastner and husband John of IA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenny was a 50 year member of Pymosa Masonic Lodge in Iowa, Golden Rule Chapter Eastern Star in Iowa and a member of Mirza Shrine in Kansas
.
He was a “people person”. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and spending time with his family, especially enjoying his grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held February 9, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Hamilton near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
