Phyllis Jean Nagel, 90, passed away February 11, 2018 at Wesley Acres Retirement Center.
Phyllis was born September 17, 1927 in Guthrie Center, Iowa to Burl and Orpha Foresman. She graduated from Guthrie Center High School. Phyllis retired in 1990 from Deluxe Check Printers where she worked as a check encoder for many years. Prior to that, she had worked as a proof reader for the Des Moines Register. She was a member of the Norwalk United Methodist Church, the Faith Circle and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Sue Balducci, Jane (Curt) Brookhart, and Mark (Renee) Nagel; sister, Gladys Dutler; brother, Frank Foresman; grandchildren, Lori (Joe) Deskovich, Christopher Balducci, Sara Brookhart, Amie (Tim) Thompson, Nichole (Niccy) Bounyavathano, Mark Nagel, Jr., Tiffani (Aric) Schmalzried, Jennifer Young and Michael Young; 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; daughter, Lynn Young; and brother, Emmett Foreman.
The family will greet friends Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 10 am to 11 am with the funeral service to follow at 11 am at the Norwalk United Methodist Church, 1801 Sunset Drive, Norwalk. Phyllis will be laid to rest at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Norwalk United Methodist Church in loving memory of Phyllis.

My condolences to the family of Mrs Phyllis Jean Nagel. At times like this we all need comfort cause the hurt and pain that comes with losing a loved one may sometimes feel so unbearable that we might think that we can't go on. Our Heavenly Father will give you all the strength to cope with your loss. Philippians 4:13, "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power."

We have such fond memories of a beautiful, fun loving lady that'll be missed so much by so many! What a blessing to have had her in our work and church lives. Our condolences to each of you.
